al-Manar vs. Israeli Haredim
Okay, I didn't intend to post a new posting so soon, but this really knocked me out. When I was communicating with a staunch Hizb member I was told the song a Lebanese female singer produced showing her support for the Hizb was boycotted at al-Manar tv, since she was female and men are not allowed to listen to females (not to music in general, but especially not to female singers). Although this is far from 'my world' as I would like to live in (and chose to live in) - I respected (and still do) that people, both men and women, chose to adhere to such 'rulings' and be happy with it. And then, this morning......... I stumbled upon this article at Ynet, telling about a male singer not being allowed to sing anymore on Haredi radio stations because of his hi-pitched voice that sounds like a woman (the radio stations received angry phonecalls from its listeners it says) - loooooooool.
Tse.

I think al Manar doesn't like Hayfa Wehbe's (who is Shia) mini shirts hahaha ... she has a home in Sunni area of Verdun, the Shia would prob stone Hayfa if she had to venture with her revealing bossom and clothes in the southern area of beirut - the Dahiyya

Nobody, you're a horrible person GRRRRRRRR
What's he done wrong to you??
I like this kind of music as well (but then, I've already declared myself inbalanced)

Akiva, it was not Haifa Wehbe. It was another singer dressed up properly. But still.....
Well, that doesn't matter anymore, right? Seeing how 'great' 'our' haridiem approach this 'subject'.
I'm totally put off by them, yaks...

in my view, tsedek, you should start massively partying .. a few ecstasy pills or good acid + uplifting techno/trance music can completely change your general outlook on life and restore your emotional balance .. you will no longer be swayed by occasional music you hear here and there but instead you will take your walkman (and your life) into your hands and for the first time start using it properly
Now I'm curious. I can't do it at work, but when I get home I'll listen to Fayzakov (but without ecstasy. I don't want to be too turned on by him, or I'll have to boycott him as well).

it's a sort of songs that produce an effect comparable to one you achieve when by mistake you put twice or three times more sugar in your tea than you are used to ..

Nobody when I told my son I couldn't find anybody to go with me to DJ Yahel a couple of months ago, he looked at me with a grimace and told me "of course, that would be the same as me wanting to go to see 'geveret pilpellet' - *cry*
It's not that I don't want to, it's because there's no room for 'being over the hill' and able to enjoy from music you truly like in the way you like it :-(
(When 50cents came to Ramat-Gan, I didn't buy tickets because I thought I'd make a fool of myself because of my age - do you have ANY idea how great my surprise was after I entered the concert (by having been given a 'special invitee ticket' while I was trying to catch the sound outside of the stadium - by a member of the 50cents team who spotted me) that not only 'old' people were there enjoying the concert but very, very young children as well?
Anyway, I'm still waiting for that black prince on a white horse from jamaica that takes me away to the reggae and hot beaches of that island to come along... but until then, it is very difficult to find people in my age-class to enjoy the same things I do...
PITS don't let Nobody drive you crazy. You listen to that song when you get home, my friend - Nobody is just shortsighted with anti-religiousnism :D :D :D

Yeah, so? He's just another guy thinking whatever he wants to think. Looneys enough walking this planet.
I don't watch Manar much, but these days they keep putting the songs of Julia Boutros... (Ahebba2i, Entasara Loubnan, etc...)
She's a christian from Jezzine (in the south), former communist, pro-Hezbollah and very revolutionnary...
Pascal Saker also appears from time to time...
So it's not all the female singers that get boycotted by Manar... Only the ones showing too much skin, lol :P

Leb-O, Julia is not communist she is SSNP.
tsedek, there's another Shiia-related tv station in Lebanon called NBN and they keep putting Julia's songs and clips all the time.
